DNS Servers are the services that translate the domain names (such as “fediverse.blog”) and web links that we enter in our web browsers into their corresponding public IP addresses.
Our ISPs automatically assigns their own DNS server to the service, but more often than not, using alternative DNS Servers provide better service, and sometimes a bit of privacy.
